The cover
Some Girls used a wig advertisement as the basis for a sleeve with cut-out faces. According to IORR, Peter Corriston and Hubert Kretzschmar worked on the design, but Kretzschmar received no original album credit. Objections to the celebrity portraits led to revised artwork.

What critics said
Robert Christgau’s Consumer Guide welcomes Some Girls’ direct rock playing and Charlie Watts’s drumming. He finds the lyrics abrasive and vulnerable, although he objects to the title track’s indirectness. For Christgau, it is the band’s strongest album since Exile.
